Gir Krushi Vasant Our Journey Rooted in the Land of Gir, Grown by the Hands of Farmers Gir Krushi Vasant Producer Company Ltd.(GKVPCL) was born with a simple yet powerful vision: to empower local farmers and bring the true taste of Gir’s agricultural bounty directly to consumers, while ensuring fair income, sustainable practices, and community-led growth. The Beginning – 2016: Our journey started in the heart of Gir Gadhda, Gir Somnath, a region blessed with fertile soil, hardworking farmers, and the world-renowned Kesar Mango. Farmers were facing challenges in marketing, post-harvest handling, and receiving fair prices. In response, Gir Krushi Vasant was registered under the Companies Act as a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) to bridge these gaps. Building a Farmer-First Ecosystem (2017-2022): Formation of farmer clusters and capacity-building programs. Introduction of organic and natural farming practices. Establishment of traceability, quality grading, and farm-to-home initiatives. Direct engagement with local mandis, buyers, and wholesale markets. Innovation & Expansion (2023): Introduced online booking and home delivery during Kesar Mango season. Developed packaging & branding under the "Gir Krushi Vasant" label. Making an Impact (2024): Successfully conducted the Kesar Keri Mahotsav – connecting farmers with urban buyers & CSR partners. Partnered with local institutions and private organizations to launch CSR-supported agri projects. Promoted eco-friendly packaging and primary processing units for reducing post-harvest losses. As a model Digital FPO of the region. Today & Beyond – 2025 and Ahead: Serving 500+ farmers across Gir Somnath, Junagadh & Amreli. Launching a Farmer Training & Resource Center to promote natural farming, entrepreneurship, and youth engagement. Building sustainable supply chains that connect farms to cities, with trust.
