Give A Bike

Give a bike’s goal is to let anyone in the world experience the freedom and flexibility of riding a bike. We bring bikes to the ones in need. We aim to increase the independency and mobility of people in mostly underdeveloped regions. By refurbishing and re-cycling donated bikes in the Netherlands and transporting them abroad, we enhance and extend the value of the bikes. We aim for projects in regions where not only the individuals, but also the community benefit from acquiring such bikes. Why is this so important? In the developing world, access to sustainable transport is life changing. It allows access to healthcare for people from remote locations, education, food, water and the wider community. Being in the possession of a bike means you can travel long distances, twice as fast, whilst carrying four times the load. The Netherlands alone, remove and destroy thousands of bikes from major cities each month after they have failed to have been claimed by their original owners. In recycling these bikes and donating them to people in dire need of them in the developing world, we are creating a win-win situation for all. Partners We a proud foundation with ANBI status, meaning we have no desire to make profit and all our efforts and funds are devoted to reaching our goal. In order for us to make the biggest impact possible, we have partnered with several organisations abroad. In doing so, the operation remains sustainable because can be assured the bikes are in possession of individuals and organisations with similar goals and values. We collect, recycle and transport bikes from The Netherlands to support projects we find valuable, anywhere in the world.
