Our Mission To give the gift of a final goodbye by providing flights for loved ones to be together during times of palliative or critical illness. Our Big Goal is: To provide 1 billion miles of customer loyalty program points to those in need of visiting a terminally ill or critically sick loved one. There are 3 key elements to the idea we are trying to make happen: 1) A tangible outcome - your miles are not going to an organization, they are going to a specific person’s story that you choose to connect with. This is how we believe the new social media giving model works. Donate to a specific person and a tangible outcome. 2) 100% donation model – all points given go to that specific person’s story to help them not to an organization in the middle. Funds that go to running our operation are raised separately and declared as such. 3) Via the Web – the transaction has to be easy and simple for those donating and those receiving points. Did you know according to Kulacauses.com, 10 trillion airline miles went unredeemed in 2011 alone? This is an incredible stat. At Give A Mile, we see this as an opportunity we can utilize to help people. With the power of the internet, the accumulation of loyalty points from many individuals can make something very significant happen. If we all give a little of our loyalty programs i.e. you give miles, I give miles then we can fund actions like people seeing their sick or terminally ill relative. Give A Mile wants to harness these programs to make social good happen. We can hope our lives are filled with love, and laughter, and the smiling faces of people who have been there for us. The great compassion and support a visit like this has to offer is a powerful gift we can give. The chance to see a loved one; to hug, to smile, to say what needs to be said, is something that we can all assist with. This is what Give A Mile wants to make happen. We thank you for your support.
