Global is the largest privately owned surface miner contractor in the world and has been at the forefront of the development of surface mining; helping to deliver lower mining costs, and providing major safety and environmental benefits for mining operations. Global provides the complete surface mining package: technologically advanced machines, experienced operators, maintenance crews, and ongoing research and development. Global’s ability to integrate surface mining technology into new and existing operations ensures accurate modelling of mining costs and reliable service delivery. Clients are able to maximise their resource by taking advantage of Global’s expertise and experience. At Global, our key priority is the safety and welfare of our people. This is achieved by adhering to the safety standards of our management systems and client requirements. In addition to this, we have developed a ‘Zero In On Safety’ strategy to educate all our employees of the importance of safety. We continually review our safety strategies and look for ways to improve, whilst always maintaining our productivity. The team at Global consists of approximately 250 site-based operational staff and 30 staff based in Perth, Brisbane and the Hunter Valley region. Global is committed to increasing the skill levels of its workers by providing ongoing training at both management and operational levels. Global Surface Mining are certified in ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and AS/NZS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Managament System. Global Civil & Mining: Global Civil and Mining is an integrated civil and mining services group providing surface mining, mine site construction, surface miner rebuilds, road construction and stabilisation services. Global Civil and Mining was started in 2004 by Managing Director, Peter Blackburn, with a single road profiler operating from Perth in Western Australia. Not before long, Peter expanded into the surface mining sector with great success and eventually ventured into the fields of stabilisation and machine rebuilds. Global Civil and Mining’s four divisions work collaboratively to provide customers with tailored solutions for every project.
