Founded in 2021, Global Design News is The Chicago Athenaeum’s new design portal with over Good Design® global subscribers in over 48 countries. Global Design News is an international format that speaks directly to leaders and trendsetters in the architecture and design world with news, products, developments, trends, forecasts, and updates—all the news the design world needs to know. Our mission is s bring to our readers carefully edited selections of the best in new architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, design and interiors projects, and news from around the world. Each year, our outreach to the design, corporate, and manufacturing community grows exponentially. Global Design News is a unique project-based online publication that showcases the latest in great new buildings, building elements, interiors, landscape architecture, urban planning, product design, graphics and packaging design, and fashion, as well as the visionaries that create them. Entrants are invited to submit completed works in different categories that reflect GDN’s editorial coverage, as well as the interests and obsessions of our readers. Each editorial is based on several criteria—the strength of the presentation, evidence of innovation, creative use of new technology, sustainability, and, most importantly, Good Design.
