Global Development Network Gdn Liberia

Global Development Network was established in September of 2023 in response to the pressing needs and challenges faced by youth, women/girls and adolescents within Liberia. Our mission is to address critical issues through comprehensive and innovative approaches. We are committed to creating lasting change by focusing on: Drug Mitigation and Rehabilitation, Advocacy, Capacity Building, Sexual Education, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Elimination of Harmful Practices and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention. OUR CORE VALUES ARE: E-empowerment R-respect I-inclusivity/innovation C-collaboration S-sustainability Since our existence we have collaborated with international, local NGOs and educational institutions and conducted workshops and outreach to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction. We developed age-appropriate curriculum and materials to educate young people about reproductive health, consent, gender equality, and healthy relationships. We Organized workshops and training sessions for parents, religious leaders, community leaders and members to promote open dialogue and understanding about sexual education and to challenge cultural norms and traditions that perpetuate these harmful practices in communities within the township of Brewerville, Montserrado County. Through these achievements, Global Development Network (GDN) has made significant contributions to Liberia. By focusing on drugs mitigation, sexual education, and eliminating harmful practices, Global Development Network has worked towards creating a safer, healthier, and more empowered community (GDN). GDN is a founding member of the Liberia Youth Voices for Accelerating the ICPD under UNFPA.
