For over 30 years the GLC has delivered crucial training and resources in Global Citizenship Education to thousands of educators. The GLC empowers educators with knowledge and skills to develop their students as proactive contributors to a more just, peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, secure and sustainable world. The GLC offers professional learning opportunities, resources, individual advice and support in the fields of-Understanding globalisation and interdependence -Developing cultural competence through a greater sense of identity and cultural diversity -Reflecting and acting for social justice and human rights -Building positive relationships for peace and conflict resolution -Creating sustainable futures Engaged by the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet (2017-2018) the GLC is currently implementing the 'Global Citizenship Education: a passport to social cohesion' program. Aligned with the Qld Government's Cohesive Communities Action Plan (2016-2018), the program will enhance the capacity of front-line educators to teach for social cohesion and global citizenship. The project features - Professional development through six online modules available through the Griffith University Learning Hub, five regional face-to-face seminars and resource development in response to regional needs- Exemplars of Global Citizenship Education through the creation of five short films of best-practice, three action research projects and five webinars sharing practice based on action research outcomes.
