Global Seaweed Coalition

The Global Seaweed Coalition is a global partnership supporting a safe and sustainable seaweed industry, led by Lloyd’s Register Foundation, United Nations Global Compact and CNRS, as well as a multi-stakeholders governance. The coalition brings together stakeholders from across the globe and every part of the value chain to unlock the full potential of seaweed. Through an inclusive members-led approach, the coalition facilitates collaboration on safety—for those consuming seaweed products, those working in the industry and for the environment. Through these three pillars of safety, the coalition aims to provide the industry with the resilient foundation it needs to responsibly scale and deliver on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
