Goiabeira Filmes e Produções is an independent film production company based in Rio de Janeiro, specializing in narratives centered on female protagonists, diversity, and social impact. Our stories are rooted in the city of Rio. Our feature-length documentary,"As Pastoras – Voices of Samba’s Women"(2018), which explores the lives of the Portela samba singers, received Honorable Mentions at the 2019 Houston International Black Film Festival and the 2019 Visões Periféricas Festival. It was also licensed by Canal Brasil and TodesPlay. Another feature-length documentary,"Say My Name"(2020), about two transgender women, was showcased at the 12th Co-Production Meeting of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, Mexico. It won the pitching competition at CINEBRASiLTV, premiered on cable TV in March 2020, and went on to receive the Best Documentary Award at the 2nd Díli International Film Festival, Timor-Leste, as well as Best Feature Film at the 6th FICL - International Film Festival of León, Mexico."Say My Name" is now available on Amazon Prime, NET NOW, VivoPlay, iTunes, Google Movies, Microsoft Movies, Looke and Todes Play.
