Golden Gate Xpress

Golden Gate Xpress is dedicated to its role as an independent, student-run news source for the San Francisco State University campus and the greater Bay Area community. Our reporting is guided by strict ethical standards and respect for the diverse community we serve. We strive to report accurate, true and complete information which will contribute to thoughtful public discourse and inform our community. SF State's Journalism Department hosts two student-run and managed publications: Golden Gate Xpress, which is the daily online news site updated throughout the academic school year; and Xpress Magazine, which posts online throughout the regular school year and publishes a glossy print magazine twice a semester. These publications are designed to be lab courses where students can experiment with the latest trends in the field. Faculty advisers are constantly encouraging students to push the envelope, but decisions always rest with the students. To serve on the publication, students must complete JOUR 300, Reporting, with at least a C.
