Gongsamo

Gongsamo", meaning "social gathering for public actions", is an innovative community for development workers and professionals in the international development cooperation field. We value loose networks of solidarity and aim to create tangible contributions to a better ecosystem where young professionals can connect, collaborate, and engage in impactful ways. Our main initiatives focus on three key areas. First, we publish a weekly newsletter "Kimchips" with subscribers, sharing insights on the international development sector. Second, we actively campaign and promote ethical storytelling and responsible development communication, specifically advocating against 'poverty porn'. Lastly, we operate an online platform for workplace reviews as well as various activities, including gathering, training programs. We believe that networking of solidarity will improve the international development job ecosystem, striving for more sustainable working conditions for professionals in the field.
