Gordon Nicolson has over 30 years experience in the industry and spearheads one of the few remaining Highland-wear businesses determined not to go down the import route. Indeed, we pride ourselves on maintaining our Scottish heritage by sourcing from craftspeople as locally as possible within Scotland and the UK. Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers has one of the largest kilt hire departments in Edinburgh. We are able to provide hires at the very last minute and specialise in outstanding Corporate Hire Service with delivery. The prestigious Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy ( on site ) is a thriving hub of learning where established kiltmakers pass on their meticulous skills to trainee kiltmakers. To our customers, this also serves to demonstrate how our kilts are traditionally hand sewn and will offer an insight into how the kilt is constructed as well as a history of kilts and tartan. When you purchase one of our kilts we want to impart our deep love and pride in traditional Scottish craftsmanship and valued heritage. Gordon himself will work closely with you to your own brief and expertly guide you through each stage of design and registration. His design portfolio includes, amongst others, the University of Edinburgh Tartan, Flodden Commemorative Tartan, John Muir Way Tartan and the Scottish National Team Tartan created exclusively for the Scottish Football Association.
