Green Cities Accord

At Green Cities Accord, our mission is to foster climate resilient communities through investments in tree canopy infrastructure. We focus on increasing funding to expand and protect the urban tree canopy across the Twin Cities metro area, recognizing trees as a proven nature-based solution to climate change. Through innovative public-private partnerships, we invest in urban tree infrastructure to capture carbon, improve air quality, mitigate stormwater, and cool our cities. As leaders of Minnesota’s first urban tree carbon offset program under the Twin Cities Climate Resiliency Initiative, we have created a new funding mechanism to support long-term tree planting and maintenance—ensuring a greener, healthier future for all.
