Green Hectares

Green Hectares is a not for profit incorporation that was founded in 2007. It was founded by the youth of rural Alberta in order to create a vision to keep the youth in rural Alberta. Its mission is: growing agricultural knowledge by providing opportunities for all to learn, teach, meet and compete. Green Hectares has been diligently working to search out partnerships and knowledge to launch its rural training program. Its vision is to bring training to rural Alberta and also create online training resources – focused on connecting rural Alberta through the internet. This will enable entrepreneurs and small businesses to buy and sell online and individuals to purchase locally from businesses in Alberta. Green Hectares mission is to create an education resource for rural Albertans. Their mandate is to focus on the agriculture community, but the education component of this project will benefit anyone in rural Alberta that requires knowledge on using the Internet and its resources and will continue to offer training and support to its fellow rural dwellers.
