Green Hustle

A festival and platform for community action, fresh ideas, and creativity. Planning plots and plotting plans in Nottingham, UK. Green Hustle CIC has its roots Nottingham's Hockley Hustle festival, which has become a community and cultural staple since 2006, raising over £237,500 for local charities. Recognising the need to act urgently and use our platform to address climate crisis and ecological breakdown, The Hustle Collective launched Green Hustle in 2020 as an online festival, extending our internal work on sustainability to create an inclusive space for discussion and action. Since then we've: • Held four in person festivals attracting over people, with the last three in Nottingham's Old Market Square • Engaged hundreds of thousands of people with accessible info and storytelling around nature, wildlife, and our dreams of a responsible, sustainable society including • Planted trees with the help of local volunteers • Worked with our stakeholders across the city to connect communities and ensure bold ideas and inclusive thinking is on the table in major forums • Lead the way on engaging public and communicating plans for the Broad Marsh, including lobbying for the new Green Heart park • Helped launch Nottingham Climate Assembly, and delivering the city’s first youth climate assembly for 15-18 year olds We believe a new spring is dawning, and that through the power of community and collaboration we can bring about a better future for all. We want inclusive change and empowered communities working together to rebuild our natural, cultural, and political commons.
