Green Scene Energy

Established in 2016 Green Scene Energy is dedicated to delivering affordable, high-quality clean energy solutions to off-grid and weak-grid communities in Ethiopia and across Africa. The products offered by Green Scene are namely; Solar Home Systems and lighting products, Productive Use / Irrigation solutions and EPC services for mini grids installations. To reach its customers Green Scene Energy partners with retailers, micro finance institutions, telecom operators and farmers associations to distribute the products using pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) financing mechanism. Starting operations in 2016, Green Scene has sold over solar energy products in SNNPR, Amhara and Oromia regions of the Ethiopia. The target markets in the next five years is reaching Households across all regions. Our exceptional expertise, extensive partner network, and local presence ensure that our fully integrated process sustainably meets our clients’ energy needs- Simple-to-use products that work - Post-distribution product traceability to ensure compliance with carbon credit regulations - Affordable, flexible payment options and - Customizable solutions for a variety of contexts Our Business Model The company introduced a new business model named “SETT” (Solar Energy by Tele Transfer / ሴት) leveraging its partnership with the national telecommunications provider, Ethio Telecom, to pilot, expand and accelerate the availability and affordability of pay-as-you-go (PAYG)-enabled solar systems to off-grid customers for a wide variety of productive uses including lighting, device charging, radio, television, refrigeration and water pumping for irrigation.
