The Grounded Research Team (GR) is the research team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Trust (RDaSH). The team seeks to fill the research gap in both community and mental health, which are currently underexplored nationally, and to apply the findings of this research to improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of our services for both service users and carers. With a growing team of research physicians, nurses, AHPs and clinical research professionals, and strong links to academic and commercial research partners, Grounded Research's priorities are- Establishing the UK's first dedicated Community Clinical Research Facility - Continuing the work of the RDaSH Centre for Nutrition & Behaviour - Increasing research in primary care - Expanding research activity in offender and ex-offender health - Harnessing research to improve substance misuse services - Strengthening research into dementia - Trialling cutting edge wound care solutions in the community - Improving the End of Life care experience Grounded Research has very strong links with local Primary Care, including the GP confederations, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities, in particular Public Health, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and research-ready practices. It is dedicated to the principle that research should be open to anyone. Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) operates services in 260 locations across Rotherham, Doncaster, North Lincolnshire, North-East Lincolnshire and Manchester. Employing over 4,300 staff, the Trust provides community and mental health services to a population of nearly over 30% of whom live in areas classified as 'Most Deprived'.
