Groundswell is a collective of Designers, Researchers, Strategists Facilitators and Communication Specialists that have worked together over the last 10 years. We lead projects that impact our clients’ relationships and community, culture, decision-making, products and services, internal organization and processes, brand and communications and most importantly, their strategic direction and futures. Each project we take on has a measure of community building through compassionate understanding of stakeholders, thoughtful engagement, and insights that lead to strategic solutions. Not only do we take the time to frame problems at multiple scales, we uncover ‘the why’ behind your challenges - essential to long-term and sustainable changemaking. Our range of expertise includes: qualitative and quantitative research, creative participatory design research, foresighting, service design, public engagement and facilitation, strategic planning, visual storytelling, communication, teaching and training. As thinking partners, we help our clients empathize with the people they serve, understand the new complexities of the 21C context and create responsive offerings, services, cultures and communications expressive of their values. We recognize we are in the midst of a massive opportunity to embrace the work of reconciliation with Indigenous communities and dismantling systems of racism and oppression. Given this context, our work is always connected to finding ways to heal from the past and ways for all lives and life to flourish in the future. Over the years we’ve developed a specialty working with organizations who support youth by creating processes and cultures that welcome youth into the process of decision making and envisioning their futures.
