Grow Benzie

Grow Benzie is a nonprofit Rural Prosperity Incubator and community center located in Northwest Lower Michigan. We strengthen our local economy and community by providing affordable, mission-driven shared services and physical infrastructure that help nonprofits, food entrepreneurs, and small businesses prosper. Our 4-acre campus in Benzie County includes a commercial kitchen, coworking offices, an event and education center, community gardens, an incubator farm, fiber makerspace, bee apiary, and edible trails. These shared spaces foster collaboration, innovation, and belonging—giving local residents, organizations, and entrepreneurs a place to connect and grow their ideas. Beyond space, Grow Benzie offers essential backbone services such as fiscal sponsorship, bookkeeping, grant writing, communications, volunteer coordination, and program management. By reducing duplication of effort and providing reliable administrative and operational support, we allow local changemakers to focus on their missions and impact. As a trusted community hub and convener, Grow Benzie partners with dozens of organizations and initiatives across sectors—education, youth mental health, broadband expansion, food access, and rural development—to coordinate shared efforts and build countywide capacity. Recognized by the Michigan Office of Rural Prosperity as a model for collaborative rural systems change, we continue to align people, resources, and opportunities to create lasting, local prosperity.
