Grow It Forward

Grow It Forward is a non-profit, community-based partnership that is centered around "teaching through gardening" with two main objectives: 1. Ontario Curriculum component delivery through the concept of “gardening”. With the aid of prepared resources and experienced leadership, teachers will find it easy to engage students with something they can associate with. Students benefit from improved academic achievement and satisfaction. The program makes use of experiential and inquiry based learning. It addresses different modalities and allows students to make 'real connections' through hands-on discovery. Promoting Awareness and Action in response to environmental change. Starting at the community level, the goal of Grow It Forward is to produce citizen-stewards of healthy ecological and social systems. By educating and mobilizing its members to think "globally, act locally", this collaborative garden reclamation project blossoms, becoming a focal point of the community.
