Growing Community Media is the nonprofit publisher of five local community print and digital news publications on the west side of Chicago and in its near west suburbs: Austin Weekly News: Wednesday Journal: Forest Park Review: Riverside Brookfield Landmark: Village Free Press: Our Mission: We connect citizens, through community journalism, to promote civil discourse, thriving communities, and a vibrant democracy. We do this by: · producing trusted journalism rooted in facts · providing open platforms to highlight diverse opinions and promote civic discourse · convening, listening to and sharing voices seldom heard in our neighborhoods to inform and connect communities with authentic journalism · collaborating with other newsrooms and nonprofits to expand its impact.
