Growing Well Cumbria

Growing Well is a targeted and specialist mental health intervention and champion recovery through outdoor activity in our Cumbrian market gardens. We’re a mental health day service that accepts self-referrals and GP/healthcare referrals from individuals experiencing a level of mental ill health that requires ongoing support. Growing Well offers activity as a powerful alternative (or accompaniment) to talking therapy. People come and participate in our organic market gardening activity on one, regular day per week, with therapeutic support from trained staff. We are based within a 6-acre organic farm and kitchen on the outskirts of Kendal at Low Sizergh Barn. We have a further base at Tebay Services Northbound, and one in Egremont, West Cumbria. Each site can support and work with up to 300 people each year. We focus on three vital objectives: • Building emotional resilience • Developing vocational and life skills • Supporting healthier, more active living
