GRUPOLIS SA. started its activity in 1982. Today, Grupolis is a company that focuses on providing services to third parties in the planning, control, coordination and direction of all the necessary diligences to comply with all formalities and procedures required for the shipping, reception and circulation of goods or merchandise. Over the years, the company has shown an unusually dynamic and pioneering spirit in the search for new markets and offering new services, sparing no efforts and investment in the research for new business, thereby taking its place among the top companies in the sector and even taking the lead in some of its markets, such as: Benelux, Morocco, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria and Switzerland. In addition to these, it has regular routes to: Germany, Spain, France, England, Italy, Eastern Europe, Brazil and the Far East. With the increasing development of the business, in 2008, 70% of Grupolis was acquired by the French Group, Timar International and also by the Spanish company Saner, and at the time, its oldest staff member, José Fortuna, was then, appointed as its general manager. This acquisition boosted the business and, at the same time, opened the doors to new markets. In 2012, already under the management of its new general manager, the maritime and air transportation departments were created and, since then, these have grown to represent a large market share for the Group. Currently, the company has a team of 50 employees in Portugal, who provide high quality services in order to meet the needs of its customers and exceed their expectations. To this end, Grupolis has setup facilities with an area of 4500m2 (offices and warehouses) in Maia and with an area of 1500m2 (offices and warehouse) in Vialonga. It is certified in both locations as an Authorised Forwarder, Customs Warehouse and Temporary Storage, working in coordination with the Customs Office, which allows streamlining customs procedures.
