PCBs seem quite simple from the outside but they have an intricate inner working structure. Manufactured in over 60 different process steps ranging from laser drilling, plasma etching, and chemical treatments. Materials used can be thinner than one sixth of a human hair. The final product can be as rigid as steel or as flexible as a piece of paper with gold plated traces so small they can only be seen apart with a magnifying glass.
