GuildHE represents more than 70 diverse universities, colleges and specialist institutions and is one of three formal representative bodies in higher education. Our members are small and large, rural and urban, practice-based and online, publicly and privately funded. The diversity of our membership enables us a unique and valuable perspective into the challenges and opportunities within, and for, the sector at any given time. Members are renowned for their practical, industry-relevant education, research and innovation - which meet critical skills needs for the 21st century, while making a significant contribution to regional growth, industry development and the national economy. As an organisation, we lead the charge for a dynamic and future-focused sector comprising a variety of institutional types to ensure the opportunities and success we know underpin its strength. We empower members to drive progress and shape a better future. Our work centres around three goals- Championing diversity: promoting understanding of the unique contribution made by smaller and specialist providers- Influencing policy: engaging government, regulators, and sector bodies to secure proportionate and supportive frameworks- Celebrating impact: raising the profile of our members and the difference they make to students, communities and the economy. GuildHE is registered as a charitable organisation and operates under the oversight of a governing board that provides strategic leadership and direction. Our board is composed of leaders drawn from our membership body, including vice-chancellors, principals, and senior executives, who challenge conventional thinking, champion innovation, and ensure the organisation remains responsive to the evolving higher education landscape.
