Guria UK
Guria is a grassroots charity dedicated to fighting human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of children based in Varanasi northern India. Guria has succeeded through its efforts over the past 30 years in making Varanasi the first city India which has a red light area free of the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Guria has rescued 2 500+ persons from slavery including both sexual exploitation and bonded labour and is currently pursuing 2 900+ legal cases against human traffickers and brothel keepers. Guria has won awards including the prestigious Nari Shakti award presented by the Presdient of India as well as awards from The Week Magazine CNN and IBN LIfe Ok Channel News Asia Channel and the Rani Laxmi Bai award from the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Guria UK is a small trust established and registered with the Charity Commission in the UK to support the work of Guria in India. We are volunteer led with 100% of donations going to support Guria's work.
