GUY DELCROIX, A GENUINE BELGIAN BRAND SINCE 1933 The Belgian watchmaker Jean Delcroix (Flemish Vander Cruyssen)(1910-1996) started his watch company in Brussels in 1933. His manufactury was located in the prestiguous Rue Antoine Dansaert, at that time a well known place for international trade and jewelry companies. In his factory he built clocks and precison balances for jewelers. He patented some of his innovations. His company imported also more than 10 different watches and clocks from Germany and Switserland for West-European market; Roamer, Medana, Kienzle, Swiza, Eterna, Longines, Breitling.Some of his stock remains a quiet witness of this period. His son Jean junior (1944°) studied Master of Watchmaking at the Swiss watchschool in Louvain (near Brussels), where he received a gold medal for his graduation work, a complete handmade watch with balancewheel and handmade hairspring. This watch obtained an accuracy of only 1,5 seconds a day, at that day a never seen accuracy. During the seventies of the last century the watch industry made a complete transition from mecanical into electronic and Quartz watches. Jean Junior was one of the first watchmakers making the famous Bulova accutron with tuning fork. From the eighties on he manufactured electronic clocks for industrial use in his new workshop located in the Belgian town of Dendermonde. Guy Delcroix (1972°) was brought up in this watchmaking family. As an homage to his ancestors he designed the Guy DELCROIX Opus 1, an affordable tourbillon watch with a big date and an automatic winding. Since 2022 he designed the North Sea Deepsea Diving watch and Golfplayers watches.
