Hadlee & Brunton (H&B) are a leading trenchless pipe installation and repair specialist in New Zealand (NZ). The 115 year old company specialise in the design, engineering and installation of highly technical and complex pipeline and tunnel projects for a vast variety of clients nationwide. Installation methodologies vary from horizontal directional drilling and high pressure pipe lining, to pipe grinding, pipe bursting, high pressure internal Amex Seals and structural fiberglass lining through to bespoke custom built camera inspection solutions. Their range of equipment and technology is unrivalled in NZ, owning the largest European Maxi Horizontal Drill Rig in the country and one of the only 500T Pipe Thrusters in the Southern Hemisphere, both of which are manufactured and supported by German Tunnelling giant Herrenknecht. They are also the sole supplier and specialist installer of German company Amex’s lining and sealing products. H&B currently hold the world record for the two longest Amex liners ever installed at 1.8 km each in Wellington NZ. These were made all the more challenging given the country was in Level 4 lockdown. As the degree of difficulty has increased on their projects so too has the level of technology, some of which just did not exist. H&B have partnered with experts from the movie industry to design a bespoke range of high definition cameras capable of obtaining footage in pipes, tunnels and confined spaces ranging in diameter sizes from 12mm to over and in continuous lengths of up to 14km. These devices are capable of POI scanning and measurements as small as 0.01mm. H&B are typically engaged through an ECI approach which enables their experience, expertise and technical capability to add immense value to the project during the early establishment and feasibility stages.
