The word ‘HAKA’ comes from the Maori ceremonial dance before war. It is a dance of preparation, done to show fierceness and intimidate opponents. While HAKA also reminds us of the Maori country, New Zealand, very famous for it’s natural splendor, vastness and for being somewhat wild and unapproachable. This danger and mystery of the open wild is also something I would like to bring to the HAKA woman. She is not dangerous, but always full of surprises. Mature, serious and determined to move towards a goal. HAKA woman is always connected to nature through her practice, one way or another.
