Halite Energy Group Ltd
Securing the UK's energy future Description Halite Energy is proposing to build an underground gas storage facility in newly-created salt caverns on the Wyre Peninsula at Preesall, Lancashire. This project will increase the UK’s gas storage capacity by 20 per cent, building energy security and resilience and supporting the development of new wind and gas generating capacity. In particular it will help protect consumers from steep energy price rises resulting from gas shortages during the winter months. General information Halite’s project team is led by highly experienced and respected figures from the UK energy and utilities sectors, who have extensive experience of working on and ensuring the safety of major energy projects. Chairman Dr John Roberts CBE spent seven years as Chief Executive of United Utilities, and before that 30 years at Manweb Plc. Chief Executive Keith Budinger spent 18 years working at British Gas, before four years as Director of Asset Management at United Utilities.
