Hamhameh Portable (Itinerant) Gallery. I use the word ‘portable’ (Itinerant), so that it would not be dependent on a location, as it does not depend on time. Hamhameh is the Gypsy’s Home. The Gypsy sometimes spreads her paraphernalia out somewhere, and Hamhameh stays there for a long time, making up stories. Sometimes she sells and gives away everything and sets off, taking only a small luggage. Hamhameh makes up stories along the way and the Gypsy records the stories of leaving and staying; through words, pictures, and arrangement of the objects, …. Hamhameh is a set of collections: old things, textiles, cooking utensils, ornaments and stones. Personal archives of photos and videos, hand-me-downs … as well as the objects left behind since childhood or by our ancestors. The story of the objects, form a huge part of the identity of Hamhameh, as the scene of a reality show: a continuing live show, where people enter out of their ideas or lifestyles; The artists who have their own different stories joint to Hamhameh, and they become a part of the live performance for a while. A show which the gypsy lives. She buys everything … she sells everything … and she always has a gift for you…
