Developing nations like Nepal’s blood collection and supply process is scattered and mismanaged. Patients’ families are responsible for arranging blood for medical procedures. This leads to chaotic, stressful and emotionally draining blood-search process especially during emergencies. It is impossible to imagine an organized process of blood supply and delivery for folks in need without proper data and information. The existing blood management system in Nepal is often described as manual, cumbersome and inefficient. Hamro LifeBank (HLB) uses technology at its core to address the current issues with blood shortage and management. With the right donor data management and blood stock management, HLB aims to work closely with blood banks in Nepal to recruit, engage and retain donors and ultimately eliminate the stress involved in arranging blood.
