Handheld Stories

Handheld Stories is a volunteer-based, educational, media-arts collaborative that provides video production tools and training for at-risk youth worldwide. Founded on the idea that education and representation are profound and powerful forces in promoting social change, Handheld works with children in communities where political, social, environmental or economic circumstances create an uncertain future. Handheld provides children the opportunity to tell their stories and broadcast their experiences to a worldwide audience. Handheld Stories does not seek to advance or endorse any specific political agenda other than the simple idea that the world benefits from expanded communication and the creative exchange of ideas.
