Hangzhou Normal University

Hangzhou Normal University is a key university in Zhejiang Province. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Zhejiang Government Two-Level Normal School, one of the six national higher normal schools in 1908. The school has three campuses, covering an area of 2.29 million square meters. The school has 24 colleges (departments) and 2 directly affiliated hospitals. There are 32,563 full-time students, including 6,425 full-time graduate students and 426 international students. There are 2,881 faculty and staff, including 2,126 full-time teachers (77.61% of them have doctoral degrees), nearly 80 national and provincial high-level talents such as academicians, Yangtze River Scholars, and Outstanding Young Scholars. The school has been selected as the first batch of provincial overseas high-level talent innovation and entrepreneurship bases. 14 disciplines of the school, including chemistry, clinical medicine, botany and zoology, neurology and behavior, engineering, materials science, environment and ecology, biology and biochemistry, mathematics, agricultural science, pharmacology and toxicology, psychiatry and psychology, general social sciences, and physics, are among the top 1% in the ESI world. The school has a Sino-foreign cooperative institution, the Hangzhou Normal University Kharkiv Institute, which has established inter-school cooperation and exchange relations with more than 30 universities in countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia.
