Hartt Dance

The Hartt School, one of the nation’s pre-eminent Dance conservatories, offers BFA degrees in Dance Performance and Ballet Pedagogy from the University of Hartford. The faculty includes artists from ABT, Pennsylvania Ballet, José Limón, Royal Danish Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, Martha Graham, Miami City Ballet and contemporary guest artists from around the world including Wendy Whelan, NDT2, Misty Copeland, Robert Wilson, Doug Varone, Yuriko, Eran Bugge, David Gordon, Taylor 2, and Peggy Lyman. The performance repertoire honors the best of past masters and current creators. It has included works by Balanchine, Bournonville, Petipa, Graham, Limón, Tudor, and contemporary creators Doug Varone, Claudia Schreier, Bryan Arias, Shannon Gillen, Norbert De La Cruz Manuel Vignoulle, Gemma Bond, Larry Keigwin, Amy Marshall, Pascal Rioux, and Edgar Zendejas. Alumni are performing and teaching with noted companies and schools including The Paul Taylor Dance Company, Joffrey Ballet, ODC, Company XIV, Francesca Harper Project, The Martha Graham Ensemble, Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre, and the Metropolitan Opera.
