In aquaculture, hatcheries are one of the main driving forces allowing the production of various aquatic species, which are then supplied to farms as juveniles for on-growing to a larger size. At Hatchery Central our mission is to provide a functional, easy to use, central gateway to any hatchery related products and services, at the right price. Hatchery Central aims to have its website, with many of its resources, available from mid 2014. The remaining services will then be added in the following 12 months. The main concept driving the development of Hatchery Central, has been progressively cultivated, ever since the partners in the project set out on their careers in the industry. During the development of their profession, several hatchery specific services have been identified as lacking or inefficiently accessible.
