The company specialises in lending against government incentives and presales, gap funding and bridge financing, alongside executive producing and packaging services. Working closely with sister companies Bankside Films and Bohemia Media, Head Gear has built strong relationships with global production companies, sales agents, and distributors. Head Gear financed films have collectively won more than 60 major awards worldwide, including multiple BAFTAs, BIFAs, IFTAs, EFAs, and AACTAs. Past titles include THE FORGIVEN, Halle Berry’s directorial debut BRUISED, Alice Lowe’s TIMESTALKER, THE CRITIC, 7x BAFTA nominee ROCKS, FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS, CALIBRE, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, BLACK MASS, and BELLE. Most recently, Head Gear financed Ali Abbasi’s THE APPRENTICE, starring Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong, which competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The company also backed Molly Manning Walker’s award-winning breakout debut, HOW TO HAVE SEX and Danny and Michael Philippou’s TALK TO ME, which became A24’s highest-grossing North American horror release of all time.
