Healthy Young Kenya is a non-profit organization committed to closing the gap between Kenyan youth and the healthcare system. We firmly believe that every Kenyan deserves equitable access to quality healthcare and the opportunity to contribute to the health and socioeconomic development of their communities. We also recognize that young people are the best catalysts for change and innovation in the healthcare sector if provided with the necessary support and guidance. Kenya has a youth population of over 75%, most of who lack access to accurate healthcare information to enable them make better decisions and take intentional actions to improve their health. This has contributed to the surging rise of preventable diseases among Kenyan youth, characterized especially by lifestyle-related, reproductive, and mental health challenges. The youth population also has a poor health-seeking behavior shaped by their negative attitude towards and perception of healthcare matters. Healthy Young exists to build capacity in young Kenyans to make informed healthcare decisions not only for themselves but also for their communities. We empower our audience with simple, relatable, and practical health information that can be used and shared to promote the health of young Kenyans. We also provide training and mentorship to young healthcare enthusiasts with innovative ideas for solving healthcare delivery challenges in their communities. We provide them with opportunities to learn, volunteer, network, and build capacity to develop their solutions to scalable and sustainable levels. We are the leading organization in championing for the health of young Kenyans.
