Heaps Gay has been coaxing Sydney out of its shell with larger-than-life parties and events since 2013. Started by Kat Dopper to provide safe spaces and parties for the queer community and allies to gather and celebrate without judgement. It’s aim to spread inclusive love through art. From pax street festivals to 50 pax warehouse parties, Heaps Gay has been going strong platforming the best queer multi-disciplinary talent from Australia & some fav queer artists from around the world such as Dorian Electra, CC Disco, Martyn Bootyspoon, Ketia, DJ Fingerblast, TT The Artist, Leif, Cakes Da Killa. Heaps Gay has toured and worked with Australia’s biggest festivals such as Falls Festival, Vivid Sydney, Melbourne Music Week, Brisbane Festival, Groovin The Moo + Mardi Gras + Heaps Gay has won multiple awards such as Best Music Event by Time Out & FBi Radio SMAC Awards. During Covid, Heaps Gay went online with Loud n Queer TV, a 2 hour music show live streamed on Facebook, designed to amplify the talent of young queer musicians and keep our community connected during a world wide pandemic. Some of our iconic events include The Queens Ball for Vivid Sydney, Roadwerk Street Festival, Heaps High @ Centrepoint Tower, Heaps Gay Yummy @ The State Library of NSW, Totes Gay Exhibition, The Last Supper Queens Feast, A long table dining experience with LGBT+ chefs.
