Hedzup - Youth Development

Hedzup Ltd is a not-for-profit company and charity working with primary and secondary schools, and alongside local councils with unemployed youths in the Angus area and beyond. Hedzup deliver programmes linked to outdoor education and activities, motorcycle mechanics, and construction industry training aimed at personal development and guiding youths into full time employment. We extend our offerings into motorcycle mechanics and have been successful in developing youths within the industry. This has further expanded (as somewhat of an incentive) to Hedzup youths attending and supporting motorsports race meetings in Scotland, the Isle of Man and Ireland where a number of our youths have been allowed to act as Race Marshalls assisting event Officials - such is the reputation and standing of the Hedzup youths within that community. Other elements of our deliverables include a variety of outdoor skills training and experiences for primary and secondary schools providing personal development, a sense of self worth and belonging to disadvantaged and otherwise excluded youths. Our funding currently comes from the delivery of the programmes noted above and from supporters donations. To date we have been successfully confirmed 60 youths obtaining full time employment having completed our construction skills programmes, run along with Discover Work Service at Dundee Council, and have already worked with over 100 individual youths so far this year across all programmes.
