Hefo

Horn Environmental Organization (HEFO) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established in 2021 by a group of experts in production and environmental sectors from across the Horn of Africa countries including Tanzaina, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. HEFO was founded to promote sustainable development and resource management in Somalia’s productive sectors particularly fisheries, agriculture, livestock, Water management and the environment. The organization works to safeguard natural ecosystems, strengthen community resilience, and support inclusive growth across coastal, urban and rural communities. HEFO’s objective is to restore degraded ecosystems, enhance food security, and empower local communities to sustainably manage their natural resources through innovation, capacity building, and evidence-based programming.
