Hepanova, Inc. is a clinical-stage global pharmaceutical company developing First-in-Class drug candidates for chronic liver diseases. The company was founded in 2014 in California and runs two state-of-the-art R&D Centers located in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, China. The mission of Hepanova is to discover, develop and commercialize innovative therapeutics for chronic liver diseases with high unmet medical needs. Hepanova’s compelling pipelines include multiple R&D programs targeting at MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, formerly known as NASH), liver fibrosis, and HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma). The First-in-Class MASH & liver fibrosis drug, HPN-01 is currently in U.S. Phase I clinical trial, showing promising early results. It is also the only MASH candidate targeting all major mechanisms – hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis simultaneously, with strong efficacy data in all three conditions.
