Since our foundation in 1990, Herb UK Ltd has been manufacturing high performance hair products, which maximise the use of gentle, nourishing, natural and organic ingredients, whilst minimising the necessity for harsh or damaging chemical additives. Herb UK was co-founded by hairdresser Steven Landreth who was forced to give up hairdressing when he developed a severe allergy to conventional hair colour. Determined to find a product on the market that’s made with fewer nasty chemicals and more natural ingredients, he soon realised that there weren't any alternatives readily available. This is what led him to develop Herb UK’s first brand of naturally better hair care products! Herb UK’s Managing Director Raoul Perfitt joined the business in 1994. From his very earliest years Raoul always had an interest in herbal medicine and natural cosmetics. Both his grandfather, a Founding Member of the British Herbal Medicines Association, and his father who was recognised by Queen Elizabeth with an MBE for services to herbal medicine, were both highly influential within the industry. From a young age Raoul saw first-hand the huge benefits of plants and natural ingredients in medicines and cosmetics. Today Herb UK is made up of 2 core brands; Organic Colour Systems, supplied to the salon professional market, and Tints of Nature which is sold to the wholesale channel and widely retailed in both independent health food stores and larger healthy grocery chains, including Wholefoods and Sprouts. Exporting to over 40 countries worldwide, our products are still made in the heart of the New Forest, Hampshire, making Herb UK Ltd the largest independent hair care manufacturer based in the UK. Since day one Herb UK has been a health conscious, ethical, and environmentally aware business, striving to educate and inform our customers about the benefits of using more naturally based hair products, We also never test on animals nor do we sell to countries who insist on animal testing.
