Here Is Now

HERE IS NOW was an ongoing series of exhibitions that worked with contemporary artists in Vancouver to develop exhibitions in the 'between spaces' of the city. Collaborating with artists, we develop exhibitions shown within the unconventional capital space, or the 'uncultured space' i.e. outside the standard white cube format. The intention of Here Is Now is to further explore contemporary art within Vancouver’s unclaimed spaces, or spaces designed to facilitate a different type of capital exchange, therefore blurring the lines that separate a creative space, or exhibition space from a capital space. We view the exhibits themselves as overall installations, working with each unique space to create an cultural aesthetic that varies in participation, duration and theme. Through this non-institutionally administered approach we wish to create a movement that focuses on exhibition models that can exist outside of the gallery
