ABOUT HERITAGE MISSISSAUGA Heritage Mississauga (Mississauga Heritage Foundation Inc.) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promotion of local history. Heritage Mississauga’s mission is to: “research, record and celebrate Mississauga’s rich and diverse heritage”. We work closely with the community on research relating to Mississauga’s history and modern developments. Together with the support of our staff, board members, community groups, grants from organizations, and sponsorship from corporations and individuals, Heritage Mississauga is able to continue to research, archive, write, film and become advocates for the most precious non-renewable resource: the rich stories and history of the City of Mississauga. COMPANY HISTORY Founded in 1960, by a small group of volunteers, Heritage Mississauga was originally called the Toronto Township Historical Foundation. We supported the move of the Bradley House to its present location and worked to open the home as Mississauga’s first Museum facility in 1967. In 1994 the City of Mississauga officially took over the running of the Museum Complex and Heritage Mississauga took on the role as the only independent organization devoted to city-wide heritage matters. Heritage Mississauga moved into The Grange in 2004. WHAT WE DO We provide the community with comprehensive historical and heritage resources to make us “Mississauga’s Heritage Source". We offer a number of services to the community including:> The Heritage Resource Centre > Research, Publications & Assistance > Community Presentations & Events > A Re-Enactment Group > Videos > Art Exhibits > Guided and Self-Guided Heritage Tours > Oral History Interviews OUR ANNUAL EVENT The Credits is Heritage Mississauga's annual event, which honours members of the Mississauga community for their contributions and achievements with a celebration of our community heritage.
