Hexacycle Limited
Hexacycle Limited provides advice and guidance on insects as food and feed. Neil's academic research has focussed on the black soldier fly (BSF) as well as endemic New Zealand species. Neil has implemented several BSF pilot plants in India. These facilities processed organic waste using the larvae of the black soldier fly (BSF), a species of stratiomyid fly now found across the globe. BSF larvae eat organic waste voraciously, converting it into protein and fat. These larvae are then harvested and processed into a high-protein meal and oil. This is used to supply the poultry, aquaculture and pet industries with a source of sustainable protein and oil.
