Hidden Outer Banks

The online magazine Hidden Outer Banks is a lens for discovering the Outer Banks from a hip insider’s perspective. A gathering of soulful articles, photos, videos and links garnered from awesome local writers and press will focus on lesser known local art and music scenes, share insider information and current events, offer event calendars, off beat tidbits, a smidge of history and the occasional piece of pirate lore. Hidden Outer Banks' companion Facebook page will help lovers of the OBX dig deep with like-minded locals and visitors. It’s an interactive page that allows users to join in the discovery of some of the OBX’s best-kept secrets by sharing information and crowdsourcing. Inspired by a lifelong love of the OBX (with a nod towards preservation and sustainability), Hidden Outer Banks seeks to remind locals and visitors alike to look a little deeper and explore the rich history and local color that exists beyond the bright shiny lights of the Bypass. When we connect with this (or any) place on a deeper level, we begin to understand the richness and wealth of this delicate ecosystem (people and planet) and can then begin to care and cherish, which leads us to becoming better caretakers.
