Hilaea Media

Hilaea Media is a creation and production multimedia bureau based in Rio de Janeiro. It is formed by photojournalist Dado Galdieri, filmmaker and historian Patrick Vanier and communications and education consultant Ingrid Le Van. Dado Galdieri is a Brazilian editorial and documentary photographer with 15 years’ experience in creating, developing, and illustrating visual stories and concepts on contemporary social and environmental themes as the world struggles to find a high energy, low carbon, sustainable lifestyle. Dado is a regular contributor to The New York Times, Dagens Nyheter, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, among others and looks for stories where the natural world impacts society and vice versa. Finalist of FNPI prize and nominated for the Pictet Prix twice, Dado has been focusing on drone videography lately, adding depth to the visual reports and stories and is pursuing a Master degree in Sustainability Sciences. Patrick Vanier is a French journalist graduated in History and a documentary maker based in the Americas for over 20 years. He has worked as a freelancer in Central and Latin America for numerous international networks (BBC, RTBF, TSR, TV5), France,(AFP, France 24, France Télévisions, Canal +, Arte) international organizations (EU, UN), print press (The Guardian, Financial Times) as well as projects crowdfunded via Agência Publica. At the same time, he has produced and directed many documentaries with a particular focus on indigenous peoples. Ingrid Le Van is a European education and communications consultant living in Brazil (French with a German/Vietnamese background, mainly educated in the UK, France and Germany, with work experience in several European and Latin American countries) and with working proficiency in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German. We chronicle from the frontiers of the Anthropocene, crafting audiovisual pieces into a storytelling that reveals the interdependences of the living things.
