The Hong Kong Educational Research Association (HKERA) was established in 1984 and currently has a membership of over 400. Membership comprises teachers, school principals, administrators, counselors, social workers, graduate students, researchers and publishers. The Association aims to promote public recognition of the importance and significance of educational research; to promote and facilitate co-operation among educational researchers in various fields and from various institutions; to advance the quality and standard of educational research and members' understanding of education issues in Hong Kong; to provide a focal point and a responsible forum for the exchange of professional ideas and practices among members; and to disseminate knowledge and findings as derived from educational inquiries.
