Hello, and welcome to the Holy Rabbit Publishing House Linkedin page. Holy Rabbit is the brainchild of Andres Cuellar Gomez, and is the base for Manzanita and for many publishing projects to come. Think of Holy Rabbit as the big vegetable garden, each project a bed, and each author/creator as a crunchy vegetable. The goal of this garden is to cultivate, grow, and provide a space for the new. All projects will be done with full transparency on the purpose, mission, vision, and values that define them. As Holy Rabbit grows, we will always strive to make each project a powerful platform for the different and daring. Diversity a better garden makes. Current projects: The Manzanita Journal “Stories born of fire. Fire is a destructive force of nature that reduces the landscape to ash and dust. From this gray, colorful life can thrive. One such life is the Manzanita tree, a tough desert tree native to America's Southwest. The seeds of this tree are protected by a dense coating, allowing them to lie dormant for years, weathering the harsh environment they inhabit. Once the seeds are burned, they burst open, take root, absorb nutrients from the ashes, and bring forth new life. It is this tenacity, the nature of its struggle, and the gift to bring the color of life from gray that has inspired The Manzanita Journal.” Manzanita is a thematic short story journal focused on social issues that are currently affecting the world. The idea is the use of fiction to promote positive and realistic representation on a variety of topics. We aim to build a publication that focuses on sharing perspectives through fiction and is complemented with an online platform for nonfiction materials and discussion.
